The Mustard Tree

The Mustard Tree

Greenacres Congregational Church has learnt a lot about the work of The Mustard Tree in recent weeks. The Mustard Tree is a charity that works throughout Greater Manchester, and is based on Oldham Road in the city.

The Mustard Tree exists to serve those across Greater Manchester who find themselves without home, food, dignity or hope.

Greenacres invited its Chief Executive, Paul Wenham, to speak at the morning service on September 4th. We also arranged a Hunger Tea when Lydia Chan - Communications Officer - spoke about the work of The Mustard Tree, and a volunteer spoke of the change that happened to him since his first contact with the charity.

The money raised at the hunger tea, along with the proceeds of a quiz night and the support of our harvest appeal has all been donated towards the work of The Mustard Tree.

Greenacres Congregational Church is now supporting another appeal to help the work of The Mustard Tree. We recently featured in an article in the Oldham Evening Chronicle, which tells how we hope that people will donate part or all of their Winter Fuel Allowance to the work of The Mustard Tree.
